We love Restaurant Week! As we said in the Tender blog, Restaurant week offers us an opportunity to show off new menu items and new twists on old favorites, welcoming both regulars and new guests through our door.
Our mission for 2014 is to create the most delicious Mexican cuisine you’ll experience in Pittsburgh. We’ve made some subtle changes to our menu and recipes recently that emphasize both quality and value, because we don’t believe the two are exclusive. And good news: you get both during Restaurant Week 2014.
Here are some pro tips for when you visit:
- Get the Prix Fixe option if you’re looking for an outstanding 3-course dinner at a great price. View the menu here. Our entrees are full sized portions — no cutting corners here. From the new spicy chipotle salsa to the mouth watering carne asada to the tres leches-style bread pudding, we promise you’ll love every bite.
- If tacos are more your thing, try the new family style option for dinner. New for this year are family-style tacos where we provide the ingredients and *you* assemble your own tacos at the table. Simple, fun, and great for sharing (if you *want* to share). Choose two of our 8 taco options for $26, or 3 for $39, and you’ll get everything you need for a feast.
- Try a tequila flight. After all, you’re in a tequila bar. We’re once again partnering with Don Julio to offer two discounted tequila flights: the “Starter” flight with blanco, reposado, and añejo for $9; or the “Don Julio’s Best” flight — an exploration of their finest tequilas: 70th Anniversary, 1942, and Real, for just $23. (Trust us: that’s a seriously good deal.)
- Join us for lunch! There are definitely some good options for lunch in the East End, but we thought there was room for one more. And so we recently began serving lunch Wednesdays-Fridays from 11-3, offering a “Via Verde” 2-course lunch for just $14. It’s fast, delicious, and a great value. View the menu here.
- Take a class on tequila and margaritas. On the Saturday of Restaurant Week, we’re launching a monthly hour-long class that provides an introduction to tequila and shows you how to make an outstanding margarita. We sell out quickly, so check our events page for future classes.
- Don’t forget brunch! Join us on Sunday from 11-3 for the best Mexican brunch in the ‘Burgh. Our dining room tends to fill up, so reservations are recommended. And for Restaurant Week 2014, we’re offering a brunch entree, side, and coffee or soft drink for $14 (naturally). View the menu here.
Lots of great ways to enjoy Verde’s offerings during Restaurant Week… and beyond. ¡Olé!
