Of course, as we write this, we’re looking at a weekend forecast in the 60s, so it doesn’t quite *feel* like winter at the moment. Still, our new cocktail menu aims to please with seasonal, spirit-forward, and belly-warming flavors. Here’s the rundown:
Tequila Old Fashioned
Corralejo reposado tequila, agave nectar, Angostura bitters. A classic and a favorite. If you’re not a Tequila fan but you like whiskey, start here.Mexican Tea Party
Hornitos reposado tequila, black tea, curacao, Licor 43, lime, orange. Tea has become a trendy ingredient in cocktails, and for good reason. The herbal notes nicely balance the tequila and citrus. Add the trio of spices for garnish, and the result is sensory delight.Desert Stinger
Scorpion joven mezcal, Cynar, Benedictine, agave, cocoa bitters. A boozy yet balanced mezcal cocktail feturing a brand that actually puts a dead scorpion in the bottle. The Cynar (artichoke liqueur… and much better than it sounds) with Bénédictine combine perfectly with the smokiness of the mezcal.Toddy Caliente
Pueblo Viejo tequila, hum botanical, lemon, agave, hot water, shaved nutmeg. We introduced this at the Hot Cocktail Party in early December, and it’s now on the menu, ready to warm up your tummy.Spicy Señorita
Espolón blanco tequila, cranberry, jalapeno pepper, curaçao, lime. If you like vodka cranberrys with a kick, try out this number. We’ll make you a fan of tequila yet.Pelo del Perro
Pueblo Viejo reposado tequila, Averna, Patron XO, amaretto, orange bitters. Literally translated, “hair of the dog.” We haven’t proven it’s hangover-healing properties, but this cocktail will awaken your senses. A hint of coffee from Patrón XO Café, a hint of bitterness from tha Averno, a hint of sweetness from the Amaretto, all working wonderfully together on the palette.Truth of Consequence
El Jimador reposado tequila, quince, honey, Licor 43, lime, lemon. Yeah, we like puns. Quince is the star ingredient in this margarita with mass appeal. On the sweeter side, and absolutely delicious.Jesse & Jane
El Jimador añejo tequila, brandy, nutmeg-infused maple, lemon, Xocolatl mole bitters. A reflection upon the souls of two tormented characters in one of the more popular TV shows in recent history. Or, you can just think of it as a damn good cocktail. Sweet, sour, and bitter blend together beautifully. All it needs is a blue rock candy swizzle stick, and it’d be perfect. That’s the list. Come in and try pairing these with the entirely new $5 taco lineup by Tender chef Steve Hebrank. You will not be disappointed!
